Selecting Air Compressor Aftertreatment: Dryer and Filter Guide

Aftertreatment turns raw compressed air into process-ready air. The choice of dryer and filters follows directly from the required air quality class.

Define the Air Quality Class

ISO 8573 classes specify limits for particles, water and oil. Match equipment to the strictest requirement at any point of use.

Choose the Dryer

Refrigerated dryers cover dew points around 3°C; desiccant dryers reach -40°C or lower for critical uses.

Select Filters in Sequence

  • Coalescing filter for oil and water droplets
  • Particulate filter for dust
  • Activated carbon filter for oil vapor

Size for Peak Flow

Size each stage for maximum flow with the correct temperature and pressure correction.
