Oil temperature directly affects lubrication, sealing and component life. Keeping it in the design range protects the air end and separator.
Why Temperature Matters
Too cold, and water condenses into the oil; too hot, and the oil oxidizes and loses lubrication. The ideal band is usually 70–90°C for oil-injected machines.
Control Measures
- Verify the thermal valve and oil cooler work
- Keep cooler fins and water circuits clean
- Check fan operation and airflow
- Confirm the correct oil grade and level
Monitor the Trend
Watch discharge temperature over time; a rising trend signals a developing cooling problem before it trips.
